Hunters at Buitepos

HUNTING SAFARIS

A hunter's paradise and wildlife haven, unlike any other hunting area in Southern Africa!

Hunting in the Kalahari is extraordinary and goes beyond all expectations. The Kalahari Desert is unique and different from any other experience you have ever had. It is a desert that is alive and that brings you the fullness of life in a special way. The wide variety of game adapted to these harsh conditions thrive and excel in their beauty.

With herds of oryx, hartebeest, springbok, steenbok, zebra and blesbok that roam freely across the 15 000 ha ( 40 000 acre) area, superb trophies are abundant all the year round.

The hunting season opens in February and closes at the end of November, although the best period is from April to September. Buitepos is well known for its exceptional oryx and springbok.

Depending on the preference of the hunter hunting can be done on foot or from a well-equipped vehicle. Nama (related to the Bushmen) trackers are used for tracking. Archers are also welcome.
